Demo videos for pull requests and releases.

Show reviewers what a change does, not just the diff. Cutscene records a narrated demo of your branch running on your machine.

A Chrome extension. Free for 10 minutes of AI demos a month, and recording yourself uses no minutes.

Claude Code, asked for a demo of a CSV export for the reviewers of a pull request, writes the demo context (a title, who it is for, the start address and what to show) and sends it after a yes. The Cutscene side panel has it, marked From Claude Code, with a Write script button.

Where it helps.

  • Pull requests. Reviewers see the change working before they read the code.
  • Changelogs and release notes. One short narrated video per feature.
  • Sprint reviews. Demos recorded beforehand, not live.
  • Link previews. In Slack, Linear and iMessage the link shows the title, the length, a frame and your name if you've added one (not for password-protected videos).

How it works.

  1. Ask for a demo. In Claude Code, run /cutscene:demo for the reviewers.
  2. Check the script. Cutscene writes it from the change; you edit any line.
  3. Record on localhost. The branch runs on your machine; nothing needs deploying.
  4. Paste the link. In the pull request, the changelog or the review agenda.

No Claude Code? Describe the change in the Cutscene side panel instead.

In GitHub.

  • Paste the share link in the description or a comment. Reviewers open it and watch with captions and a transcript.
  • Or drag in the MP4 if it fits GitHub's limits (10 MB on free plans, 100 MB on paid).
  • With auto zoom on, the MP4 has the zoom drawn in (videos up to 20 minutes).

GitHub's limits as of October 2026: GitHub Docs: attaching files (opens in a new tab).

Questions.

Something else? Write to hello@trycutscene.com.

Does the video show my code?

No. It records your app in the browser, not your editor. Claude is told never to include code, and you see every word first.

Can I record before merging?

Yes. Run the branch locally and start the demo from localhost.

What if the change moves on after review?

Edit the steps that changed and record again. Each take is a new video with its own link.

More about Cutscene

Cutscene is a Chrome extension that writes a script and records a narrated, auto-zoomed demo video of the app you built, in your own signed-in browser. It is for developers who need to show what they built: freelancers and agencies showing clients their progress, and small product teams showing a release to their team or users. Free includes 10 minutes of AI demos a month, and recording yourself uses no minutes. Pro is $15 a month, or $144 a year, for 120 minutes. Extra minutes are $8 for 60. Paid plans open soon.

Your next demo, recorded for you.

Describe what you built and approve the script. Cutscene records it and hands you the link.
