Demo videos from Claude Code.

Ask Claude Code for a demo of what it just built. Cutscene records a narrated video of it in your real, signed-in app.

A Chrome extension. Free for 10 minutes of AI demos a month, and recording yourself uses no minutes.

Claude Code, asked for a demo of the invite flow for Dana, reads what changed on the branch, writes the demo context (a title, who it is for, the start address and what to show) and sends it after a yes. The Cutscene side panel has it, marked From Claude Code, with a Write script button.

How it works.

  1. Ask for a demo. Run /cutscene:demo, or say "make a demo video of this".
  2. Sign in once. Approve the code in the browser tab that opens. No token goes in the terminal.
  3. Claude writes the context. A title, who it's for, the start address and 3 to 10 steps.
  4. You say yes. You see exactly what would be sent. Nothing goes out before that.
  5. Check the script, then record. It waits in the Cutscene side panel for 24 hours, marked From Claude Code.
  6. Share the link. It is copied for you when the take ends; a Copy button is there too.

Name the viewer and the video greets them by name. If Claude doesn't know one, it asks.

The context can also name other tabs (up to three), results that arrive later, and steps only a person can do.

What it sends.

  • The demo context: a title and a short description for the viewer, at most 20 KB.
  • Details: repository name, branch, commit, changed file names, the app's address, the plugin version.
  • Not sent: Claude is told never to include source code, diffs, file contents, environment values, logins or customer data, and you see every word before it goes.

Text that looks like a password, key or token is refused. The plugin has no hooks and no MCP server, and runs only when you ask.

Install.

You need Claude Code with Node 18 or newer, Chrome with the Cutscene extension (opens in a new tab), and an account (made at first sign-in).

In your terminal:

claude plugin marketplace add farzam-azhar7777/cutscene-claude-plugin
claude plugin install cutscene@cutscene

Or inside a Claude Code session:

/plugin marketplace add farzam-azhar7777/cutscene-claude-plugin
/plugin install cutscene@cutscene

Then run /reload-plugins, or start a new session.

Have it already? Update with:

claude plugin marketplace update cutscene
claude plugin update cutscene@cutscene

Then run /reload-plugins.

An example.

Asked for a demo of a new invite flow for Dana, a client, Claude writes this.

# Invite a teammate

Team now has an Invite member button that sends an email invite.

## Who it's for
- For: Dana (the client who asked for it)
- Why it matters to them: her team can add people themselves

## Where to see it
- Start at: http://localhost:3000/settings/team

## Steps to show
1. The Team page lists everyone in the workspace
2. Click "Invite member"
3. Type a work email and click "Send invite"
4. The invite shows under "Pending invites"

Cutscene turns it into a script like this, which you edit before recording:

  1. Point at TeamHi Dana, here's the invite flow you asked for. Now your team can add people themselves, from the Team page that lists everyone in the workspace.
  2. Click Invite memberAdding someone starts with Invite member, at the top of the list where anyone can find it.
  3. Type maya@harbor.devTheir work email is all Harbor needs, so there's nothing else to fill in.
  4. Click Send inviteSending it emails Maya a link to join straight away.
  5. Point at Pending invitesMaya now shows under Pending invites until she joins. So adding a teammate takes one email and two clicks. Let me know if you'd like any changes.

Does the plugin send my source code?

No. It sends a title and description Claude writes for the viewer, the app's address, and the repository, branch, commit and changed file names. Claude is told never to include code, and you see every word first.

Does Claude Code record the video?

No. The plugin only sends the context. Cutscene writes the script in the Chrome side panel and records when you press Record.

Where does the plugin work?

In Claude Code on your computer: the terminal, the IDE extensions and the desktop app's Code tab. Not in claude.ai chat, Cowork or cloud sessions (claude.ai/code).

Can I use Cutscene without Claude Code?

Yes. Describe what you built in a few sentences, and Cutscene writes the script in the Chrome side panel the same way.
